So, tell me how noobtastic my roster is. It's an ESPN standard league with a 9 man roster (QB, RB, RB, RB/WR, WR, WR, TE, D/ST, K) with a 7 man bench.

QB1 - Kurt Warner, ARI

QB2 - Trent Edwards, BUF

RB1 - Maurice Jones-Drew, JAC

RB2 - Kevin Smith, DET

RB3 - Chris “Beanie” Wells, ARI

RB4 - Earnest Graham, TB

RB5 - Jamaal Charles, KC

WR1 - Steve Smith, CAR

WR2 - Roy Williams, DAL

WR3 - DeSean Jackson, PHI

WR4 - Lance Moore, NO

WR5 - Josh Morgan, SF

TE1 - Antonio Gates, SD

TE2 - Tony Scheffler, DEN

D/ST - Miami Dolphins

K - Nick Folk, DAL

Obviously, I passed on a back-up defense and kicker. This might be a mistake, but I don't really know. I can pick up back-ups if I find out they are a necessity for those positions.

Anyway, I'd like to hear some honest opinions. The draft was last night with 10 people in the league and I was the second pick in the draft.

Thanks,

I do not think you did so poorly, actually. Here are some thoughts:

Scared about having Warner as a QB1 this year. It could be a make or break pick for fantasy owners, in my opinion, given his age, propensity for turnovers and brittleness.

Good starting running backs, a little concerned about the depth. Hopefully Beanie Wells can get and stay on the field.

I like the depth at wide receiver. Between Roy Williams, Lance Moore and DeSean Jackson, there is a nice stable of WR2s to go along with Steve Smith.

I would probably drop Scheffler since you have Antonio Gates. No need to roster a backup tight end if it is not Gates' bye week.

I never roster a backup defense or kicker until necessary (bye week), so that is not a red flag to me.

Well done and good luck this year!

Thanks man. I am also a little worried about Warner. Hopefully he holds up and produces like last season. Anyway, a friend of mine would also like to see what you think of his roster, so here it is:

QB1 - Philip Rivers, SD

QB2 - Joe Flacco, BAL

RB1 - Michael Turner, ATL

RB2 - Joseph Addai, IND

RB3 - LenDale White, TEN

RB4 - Cedric Benson, CIN

RB5 - Fred Jackson, BUF

WR1 - Randy Moss, NE

WR2 - Brandon Marshall, DEN

WR3 - Lee Evans, BUF

WR4 - Santonio Holmes, PIT

WR5 - Michael Crabtree, SF

TE1 - Kellen Winslow, TB

TE2 - John Carlson, SEA

D/ST - Minnesota Vikings

K - Mason Crosby, GB

Same Draft, same league, he had the 3rd pick in the draft.

Thanks again,

Solid at most of the No. 1s (Rivers, Turner, Moss, Vikings). The depth concerns me a little, especially at running back. Overall, not bad. Hopefully Winslow or Carlson can be a huge contributor to boost the weekly points, also Brandon Marshall staying out of trouble and actually playing would be a big help. Lots of risk there, but the upside is nice.

So, I have had a few roster changes. Obviously some of the guys on this posted roster have had a slow start (to say the least), so I had to make some upgrades.

The current problem I am having now is picking the starters for this week.

At rb I still have MJD who is an obvious starter for me every week. I have Kevin Smith - DET, in right now, but I also have picked up Tashard Choice, DAL. I currently have Smith in right now for this week, but I am wondering if I should start Choice instead since Smith is facing the Steelers defense? (Leon Washington - NYJ is also on my bench if that influences anything)

At WR I have a ew more decision. I currently have in to start DeSean Jackson - PHI, Mike Sims-Walker - JAC, and Steve Smith - NYG. Available on the bench I have Steve Smith - CAR and Nate Burleson - SEA (Lance Moore - NO is still on my bench, but bye week). My concern is that if Eli Manning - NYG is out Steve Smith might not be as productive. If he happens to be out should i sub in Steve Smith - CAR or Nate Burleson, or should I just stick with Steve Smith - NYG?

Finally I have Kurt Warner - ARI as starting QB, and Matt Hasselbeck - SEA on bench. I am leaning towards Warner as the starter, but should I take a gamble on Hasselbeck against a fairly weak Jacksonville secondary? I am worried that the Cardinals could just go to the run since they are facing a shoddy Houston run defense (even though Arizona is a pass first team).

Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
