More breakout performances in week3, which will lead to another busy week on the waiver wire. Time to start preparing for the upcoming bye weeks, as well.

Quarterbacks

Matt Hasselbeck, Titans [311-2-0]
Did not matter that he lost Kenny Britt fairly early in this game, Hasselbeck still put up numbers.

Running Backs

Stevan Ridley, Patriots [7-44; 1-8]
Interesting that Ridley got the majority of work in a close game down the stretch.

Kendall Hunter, 49ers [9-26-1; 2-12]
Bad news for Gore owners that Hunter came in and got a score.

Montario Hardesty, Browns [14-67; 3-19]
One-week wonder candidate, but showed he is a capable replacement for Peyton Hillis.

Wide Receivers

Victor Cruz, Giants [3-110-2]
Surprise of the day in that the Giants were not expected to be able to move the ball through the air against Philly.

Nate Washington, Titans [8-92-1]
Continues to have a solid season, now the No. 1 receiver in Tennessee with Kenny Britt hurt.

Torrey Smith, Ravens [5-152-3]
Rookie had his breakout game of the season.

Tight Ends

Brandon Pettigrew, Lions [11-112]
With Matthew Stafford behind center, there will be passes to go around in this offense every week.

Here are today’s great reads:

  • Seven lightly owned fantasy players you should add to your watch list this week. Of these, I really like what Titus Young has been able to do so far. Had a decent game against the Chiefs but I chalked up his stats to playing in garbage time. Followed it up with a nice day yesterday (Four catches, 51 yards) with the Lions trailing most of the game. • Busting the third year wide receiver myth in the fantasy football world. Lengthy read, but worth your while if you are holding onto antiquated fantasy football theories. [The Big Lead]
