Start & Sit, fantasy football, start, sit, advice

If you are a Michael Vick owner, you cannot be surprised right now.

It may only be three weeks into the NFL’s 2011 regular season, but that has not stopped Vick from trying to do one of the things he does every season: Miss games.

He has not been ruled out for Week 3, however, and actually practiced on Thursday. So his chances of playing this week are pretty good.

But let this be a warning, Vick owners: You knew this was coming and I can almost guarantee there will be more weeks like this ahead.

Injuries of Note

The injuries heading into Week 3 are so significant I had to write about them Thursday. So go read that and then check on your players’ statuses at the end of practices today for a better idea of who will start/sit this weekend.

Start ‘Em

Ryan Fitzpatrick v. Patriots
Time to start trusting the Bills’ offense. Besides, the Patriots’ D has not really stopped anybody yet.

Chris Johnson v. Broncos
If not this week, when?

Rex Grossman @ Cowboys
Solid first two outings for Grossman. This Washington team actually is a passing team.

Sit ‘Em

Steven Jackson v. Ravens
Do not trust that he will be fully healthy and if he does play it will be against a tough opponent.

Beanie Wells @ Seahawks
Late-week injury kind of scares me, plus Seattle actually has not been that bad against the run so far this season.

Hakeem Nicks @ Eagles
You probably cannot really afford to sit him, but I am interested to see how he holds up against the “dream team” corners.

Fantasy Mailbag

Great questions from our readers this week. If you want your fantasy questions answered, make sure to follow The Hazean on Facebook or check us out on Twitter.

Jacob Chapman Brandon marshall, wes welker and willis mcgahee…which 2?

Marshall and Welker, unless Knowshon Moreno is out again this week. Then I might roll the dice with McGahee and Marshall.

David Meilleur I’m one of those owners that lost Jamaal Charles last week. In this 12 team league there are no decent backs to pick up in free agency. I still have Tolbert, Bradshaw, McGahee, and was able to pick up McCluster(only eligible as a WR). I have Philip Rivers, Matt Stafford, and Josh Freeman as my QBs. Do you try and trade Rivers for a RB or ride it out?

See how it goes this week, but at some point this season you are going to need to acquire a legitimate RB1 in my opinion. Dangle Rivers and Stafford, see which gets you the best price, and pull the trigger. I would be interested to hear what your options are when the time comes.

@theMVJ Also thoughts on D. Henderson or D. Bowe this weekend

I like Bowe for this weekend, despite the train wreck the Chiefs have become this season. He is going to get a lot of targets and they should be behind all day.
