Grab Bag, fantasy football, waiver wire

We are fast approaching the halfway point in most fantasy football regular seasons.  Hopefully, your team is sitting atop the league as you have made key waiver wire pickups to thrust your team to the front of the standings.  If however, you are like me and are currently dwelling in the cellar, then rush over to the free agent pool that is breaming with talent.

Vince Young [QB, Tennessee Titans] - Much like Fitzpatrick last week, Young gets the nod here because he goes up against a porous Jaguars secondary.  Fitzpatrick (who wasn’t even the starter for the Bills heading into Week 1) threw for 3 touchdowns last week.  Young should be able to put up solid stats and is a great start for a bye week replacement.

Mike Hart [RB, Indianapolis Colts]- With Joesph Addai and Donald Brown both made out of glass, Hart stepped in for the injured duo and scampered for 50 yards and a touchdown.  Now we all know that Indy is a throw first team, but if Addai can’t go this weekend, Hart will get the start and could put up serviceable stats.

Brandon Pettigrew [TE, Detroit Lions]- Pettigrew has quietly earned himself into the top 10 of all TEs in the NFL.  With Calvin Johnson possibly sidelined in next weekend’s action, Pettigrew could see his role in the offense increase.  He has been a favorite target of backup Shaun Hill, and looks to continue putting up consistent fantasy numbers.
