Maybe this year we can actually give away a prize to the winner of some kind. Suggestions?
Here are today’s great reads:
- The summer battle between Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles continues to be fought in Kansas City. Which player, Jones or Charles, will have the better fantasy season in 2010? I want to say Charles because of the youth and big-play factor, but I have counted Jones out way too many times during the course of his career. Perhaps he has another solid season in that aging body. [Fantasy Knuckleheads]
- Draft strategy: If you cannot land one of the top running backs in the first round of fantasy drafts this year, consider other options like wide receiver or quarterback. By being flexible, you could build an even better team than if you stay rigid to a draft strategy that has you taking a lesser player. [The Fifth Down]
- Some fantasy owners are handcuffers, some are not. Which camp do you fall into? Personally, I usually do not bother with the handcuff — especially if it is going to cost me a higher draft pick than I want to give up for one. Knowing the handcuffs, however, always is a good idea in case one of these guys falls into your lap late in fantasy drafts. [Fantasy Football Xtreme]
- Ryan Grant continues to be one of the better values in fantasy drafts this summer. That trend should not stop anytime soon after his miserable preseason performance (fumble, injury). If anything, his average draft position will drop some in the coming weeks, making for an even better value. [National Football Post]
- Matt Forte did not play up to expectation last year and burned many a fantasy owner. Now, his average draft position represents the faith — little — fantasy owners have in his ability this season. But he could be do for a big bounce-back campaign in 2010 in the Mike Martz offense. [Hatty Waiver Wire Guru]
