With only one week left to go in the 2009 NFL regular season, it is time to roll out the red carpet.

There is plenty of hardware to give out this holiday season. Not sure which fantasy awards we gave out last year — and I am too lazy to look them all up at this point — so I consolidated the categories below.

A few suggestions for each of this year’s awards are seen below. Make sure to nominate your favorite fantasy players for each category in the comments below.

2009 Fantasy MVP
Chris Johnson, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and Andre Johnson come to mind immediately. Any others worthy?

Waiver Wire Add of the Year
Jamaal Charles was a beast down the stretch of the season, but Miles Austin and Vernon Davis were studly as well.

Comeback Fantasy Player of the Year
A few noteworthy players returned from a previous injury to have big seasons in 2009, including Tom Brady, Cadillac Williams and Carson Palmer.

Fantasy Rookie of the Year
Knowshon Moreno, Austin Collie, Percy Harvin and Jeremy Maclin made names for themselves in this, their freshman season.

Biggest Bust of the Year
If fantasy owners of Matt Forte or Brandon Jacobs made it to the fantasy postseason, it certainly was not because of either of those guys.

Here are today’s great reads:

  • Hindsight is 20/20, which is why it is easy to say we all should have taken Chris Johnson in the first round during fantasy drafts last summer. [Fantasy Football Fools]
  • A look back at fantasy championship weekend — for most — and the players that brought home the trophies for fantasy owners. Jonathan Stewart, Matt Schaub, Beanie Wells, Roddy White and the 49ers D all started on my championship team. [FanHouse]

  • More love for Roddy White and the other week 16 studs who helped fantasy owners seal the deal this season. It was an explosive week 16 for many players. [National Football Post]
