Who Dat!?!
I would be remiss if I did not mention that the New Orleans Saints improved to 8-0 — a franchise first — yesterday afternoon. Much like the Saints, I was able to taste the sweet nectar of fantasy football victory. After struggling most of the season, my team finally has a record better than .500 record and, more importantly, I am in great position to make the playoffs.
If your team was not so lucky this past weekend, or if you are looking to improve an already winning program, check out a few recommendations this week.
Ladell Betts, RB, Redskins - Betts will undoubtedly be the hot add this week in most leagues since Clinton Portis got folded up like a tent against the Falcons. Portis is listed as doubtful for week 10 and will not be rushed back too quickly since Betts is more than capable.
Jamaal Charles, RB, Chiefs - With Larry Johnson officially cut from the Chiefs roster, Charles will see the bulk of the carries for the remainder of the season. Kansas City’s ground game has been anemic this year, so do not expect too much from him.
Chris Chambers, WR, Chiefs – With only three practices as a member of the Chiefs, Chambers exploded on Sunday with two touchdowns and 70 yards receiving. Has the ex-Charger found new life in Kansas City, or was this just merely the last twinkle of a dying star?
Robert Meachem, WR, Saints – I am not sure if it is because I live in Louisiana but Meachem has received a lot of hype since he was drafted. Finally, he seems to be living up to the hype. Meachem hauled in five passes for 98 yards and a score. Meachem seems to be emerging as the No. 2 receiver on the team. Besides Marques Colston, Meachem is being targeted more often than Devery Henderson, who seems to have found his niche running deep routes, while Lance Moore seems like the odd man out.
