In a deal done early Wednesday morning, former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards has been traded to the New York Jets.
In the ESPN report, there is no mention of what the Jets had to give up in order to obtain Edwards. This trade comes on the heels of a Braylon Edwards-Lebron James feud caused by Edwards alleged assault on one of the NBA player’s friend. No word on whether or not this altercation had anything to do with the trade.
Fantasy Impact: Braylon Edwards, two years removed from his 16-touchdown season, has been a fantasy bust the last couple of seasons. Although the poor performance is not his fault entirely (QB carousel in Cleveland), he has dropped his fair share of balls.
Even still his presence on the field will help stretch out the opposing defenses and allow Mark Sanchez to spread the ball around even more. Jerricho Cotchery’s value is not hurt terribly as he still appears to be the go-to receiver for now.
