The bye weeks are here and your fantasy football starters are out. You are in need of that gem on your bench or on the waiver wire that can come in and deliver the points needed to win this week’s fantasy match-up.
Take a look on the waiver wire as these guys here are possible candidates.
Kerry Collins, QB, Titans: Collins and the Titans have to win this game or they may be done for the season. The Jags are going to focus on stopping Chris Johnson, which could mean a big day will be available for Kerry Collins. I do not think two or three touchdowns is out of the question for this veteran quarterback.
Glen Coffee, RB, 49ers: Frank Gore is injured in San Fran and Coffee is the new starter. He looked pretty good in preseason and is playing against the Rams. I think the Rams might be this year’s Lions, so expect a big day from the new starter Coffee. He is looking to prove his worth in San Francisco and the Rams will be his stepping stone.
Greg Lewis, WR, Vikings: Brett Favre is finally facing the Packers, the team where he made his name and fame. Will Favre have one of those games he always has when he is faced with adversity? I believe he will try and Lewis is that speedy receiver that can beat cornerbacks deep. Favre will try and throw one deep and Lewis will be the guy catching the ball.
Zach Miller, TE, Raiders: JaMarcus Russell has regressed every game this season. He needs to get the ball to his most sure-handed target in Miller. Miller had a good week the first week of the season, but has not seen many balls since. If Russell is to get back on track in Oakland he will need to rely on Miller against a weak Texans’ defense.
