Unfortunately, Marc threw his first Big Board at me the week I was on vacation and so they are slightly outdated at this point.
However, this is just a sign of things to come with the fantasy rankings.
Not bad for his first edition. These rankings are tailored toward those in redraft, standard scoring, non-PPR leagues. For those of you in PPR leagues out there, do not fret: There are PPR rankings in the works via the addition of a new writer.
Expect an update of the Big Board from Marc again sometime this month. And since I have no vacation of substance from now until September, the next set of rankings will be timely.
Pick through these and leave any feedback in the comments. Enjoy Marc’s first Big Board after the jump.

| Steven Jackson | Jackson has not lived up to expectations due to injuries, but he has all the tools. |
| Brian Westbrook | Westbrook is the best multi-threat runningback in the NFL. |
| Drew Brees | Brees nearly broke Dan Marino’s passing yards record, maybe a run at the TD record is possible this year. |
| LaDainian Tomlinson | LT’s production is down, but he is still worthy of a top-10 pick. |
| Larry Fitzgerald | Fitzgerald has become the human highlight reel. |
| Frank Gore | Gore has the ability to put up Westbrook-type numbers. |
| Maurice Jones-Drew | Jones-Drew is the man in Jacksonville, making him a high pick in this year’s draft. |
| Matt Forte | With Cutler at QB, defenses won’t be able to load the box on the Bears. |
| Clinton Portis | Portis is consistent every year putting up top-10 running back numbers. |
| Chris Johnson | Johnson has blazing speed and cat like agility. He is the future in the NFL. |
| Steve Slaton | Slaton has the perfect style for the Texans and should see his numbers increase. |
| Tom Brady | Brady is back and ready to prove he is still the best QB in the NFL. |
| Marion Barber | Barber had a bad year but could go back to his old role in Dallas where he was most productive. |
| Andre Johnson | When healthy, Johnson can challenge Fitz for the No. 1 receiver slot. |
| Brandon Jacobs | Jacobs will continue to put up big numbers in New York. |
| DeAngelo Williams | Williams had a great season, but there has to be a drop off with the emergence of Jonathan Stewart. |
| Randy Moss | Moss is happy Brady is back and will see more balls thrown his way. |
| Calvin Johnson | “Megatron” is unstoppable, but he will have a rookie QB throwing him the ball. |
| Ronnie Brown | The Wildcat worked at times, but Brown needs to run better between the tackles. |
| Reggie Wayne | Wayne is the man in Indy which means he should see plenty of double teams. |
| Peyton Manning | Manning is losing Harrison and not happy about it. |
| Ryan Grant | Is Grant still the future in Green Bay? He needs to put up good numbers this year to be sure. |
| Greg Jennings | Jennings touchdown production dropped, but he is still the best receiver in Green Bay. |
| Roddy White | White has emerged into a star with Matt Ryan at quarterback. |
| Brandon Marshall | Marshall is having off-the-field troubles else he would be a top 5-receiver. |
| Kevin Smith | Smith showed great promise as a rookie and could improve his stats this year. |
| Terrell Owens | Buffalo needed a receiver and signed the best one available, but at what cost to the team? |
| Anquan Boldin | Boldin’s contract status makes him a wildcard but if he is in Arizona and happy, expect big numbers. |
| Pierre Thomas | Thomas has put on muscle to make sure he can handle the load of an entire NFL season. |
| Joseph Addai | Addai has not run between the tackles well and needs to stay healthy to produce. |
| Kurt Warner | Warner needs Boldin to return or his numbers will drop. |
| Marques Colston | Colston is coming off knee surgery in the off-season after an injury-plagued season. |
| Philip Rivers | Rivers is a high risk, high reward quarterback. |
| Reggie Bush | Bush says he is ready to take on more at the running back position. |
| Aaron Rodgers | Rodgers had great numbers, but he needs to win in order to keep the fans happy. |
| Antonio Gates | Gates is still the best tight end in the NFL, but there are young guns taking a run at his title. |
| Tony Romo | Romo doesn’t have big-play TO, but it’s his locker room now. |
| Jonathan Stewart | Stewart is the future in Carolina and was very impressive his rookie season. |
| Felix Jones | Jones has all the tools to be a great NFL running back. |
| Donovan McNabb | McNabb can’t complain he doesn’t have anyone to throw the ball to anymore. |
| Braylon Edwards | If Edwards can fix his dropping problems he would have great numbers. |
| Marshawn Lynch | Lynch could get suspended for off-the-field troubles which lowers his outlook. |
| Larry Johnson | Johnson is a dinosaur in the NFL, but is he still a T-Rex? |
| Thomas Jones | Jones isn’t as good as he used to be, but he is still worthy of a starting spot. |
| Santonio Holmes | Holmes can beat anyone deep, but now he needs to be the guy and catch shorter routes as well. |
| Chad Ocho Cinco | Ocho Cinco has new (fake) tattoos on his face that should scare defenders away, MAYBE? |
| LenDale White | White is the new Jerome Bettis, scoring all the touchdowns in Tennessee. |

I think LenDale White needs to move up the rankings alittle… he lost weight this off season… might work out for him.
I hate people who post like trolls to get a reaction. I swear I’m not trying to do that, but it’s going to look like it. I must be missing something, or this is some kind of bizarro world list.
Drew Brees in the middle first round? Is he the top quarterback? Probably, but is he that much of a safer bet over Brady/Manning that he rates being that high up? No way. Westbrook, and Gore (I don’t agree but I’ll let LT2 slide) ahead of MJD and Forte? Really? Carolina WR Steve Smith doesn’t make the list of top 50? lol. Felix Jones at 41? I actually believe in Jones but not at 41 with MB3 sitting in front of him. Reggie Bush at 36 in non-PPR? C’mon now. These are only some of the lowlights, I disagree with nearly the entire list in major ways.
Hey you think this list is right? Great, use them. I’m just some random guy on a message board. But, I say when looking at any draft list look at their historical predictions and see how they mesh with reality. I have *not* done that with this writer so maybe he is Carnac the Magnificent. I really don’t like being mean, but this list has amateur written all over it.
Marc was pretty good with sleeper predictions last year. I blame myself for not editing this thoroughly enough and catching the Steve Smith omission.
Guarantee … Marc’s next Big Board will blow you away! Thanks for reading and commenting, by the way.
Quarterbacks should move up in the rankings with most teams switching to RBBC. Drew Brees is definately worth an early pick in the Saints pass happy offense. The only reason Manning and Brady aren’t higher are because of new personel and coaching staff in Indy and the injury questions surrouding Brady. I would rather have a QB that can get me 35 touchdowns vs. a runningback who gets me 15 when the point value is the same.
Steve Smith being left off the list was an oversight and I would put him behind Calvin Johnson on the list. I guess your asking why is LT ahead of Gore and MJD? Gore doesn’t have QB and MJD doesn’t have an offensive line. I’m not one of the people that are down on LT just yet.
You may have low expectations of Reggie Bush, but like I said earlier the Saints like to throw the ball and Bush loves to catch. He was leading the NFL in touchdowns before his injury last season.
But thanks for commenting.
Glad to see that Steve Smith was an oversight. I’m not particularly high on him, but he’s easily on a top 50 list.
I do believe that those top QB’s belong higher up the list than five years ago. Given the previous year’s stats and if you had a crystal ball that said he wouldn’t get hurt, Brady would have been the lock at number one pick. But, is Brees nine positions higher than Brady and eighteen more than Manning? The difference between a 5 and a 14 pick is enormous. You made your argument though and I have to respect that.
I suppose I was unclear on the high RB’s. I was saying that it is shocking to see MJD and Forte behind Westbrook (old and injury/recovery risk) and Gore. I personally believe due to falloff they are also both well ahead of Tomlison. I was willing to kind of shrug on LT2 because the truth is that no one really knows whether last year was an injury year or a trend.
My criticism was rough, but I stand by it. And, I respect that you stand by your picks. The truth of it is that any job that requires you to predict the future is a tough gig.
I agree that Brady and Manning could easily be taken higher and I wouldn’t think anything about it, but I do believe Brees has a better opportunity to have an exceptional season. I believe Brady and Manning are better than their rankings, but I want to see them prove it first.
Forte is only in his second season and could easily have a sophmore slump like so many others. MJD has never been a starter in the NFL and plays behind a bad offensive line. Gore and Westbrook are injury prone but have been successful longer. Westbrook is one of my favorite runningbacks in the NFL no matter how many time he beats my fantasy team. Just because players are younger doesn’t mean they are better.
Once again thanks for the comments. That is what makes this fun.
Ahh what the heck, I shall throw my two cents in …
LT2: Still firmly in his camp. Think last year — down for him — was still great by fantasy standards. Expect more this year.
Brees, Manning, Brady: Pick one. They are close. Brady is sneaking up on Brees for No. 1 in my book and I think it is neck-and-neck. Manning still is as good and consistent as they come.
Not a fan of Westbrook this year, but I have said that for several seasons now and he continues to produce like a RB1. Prove me wrong again this year? The end is near.
