April is NFL Draft month, so what better way to kick things off than with a little fantasy mock draft of our own?!?

And since we are in the drafting spirit, this month’s fantasy mock draft will go a full two rounds. Watch out! That is partially in an attempt to ask your forgiveness for last month’s lack of a fantasy mock, but mostly because we enjoy drafting no matter what time of year it is.

Even better still, all three of The Hazean’s writers joined in on the mock drafting fun. The three of us drafted in the following order for the second round — Michael, Marc, Blaine — and the results can be seen after the jump below.

To recap 2009’s fantasy mock drafts to date, Adrian Peterson went No. 1 in the first two. There has been some movement in the top half of the first round, but most of the names have remained the same. A few names on January’s mock left the list for a few others in February, which brings us now to April. And now Michael Turner took the top spot from Peterson, who slipped to No. 2 overall in the first round of April’s mock.

2.01 Brandon Jacobs, RB, Giants: I just grabbed my own fantasy football version of thunder — Jacobs — and lightning — Chris Johnson — at the turn. Jacobs, unlike Johnson, will not have to worry about another player stealing his touchdowns within the 20-yard line, because he is the ultimate redzone running back. Scampering behind one of the best run-blocking lines in the league, Jacobs should be in for another RB1/2 season as long as he stays healthy. (After two rounds: Chris Johnson, Brandon Jacobs)

2.02 Tom Brady, QB, Patriots: Brady is back and you’re gonna be in trouble, hey now hey now, Brady’s back!  The king of QBs is back from his week 1 injury last year and looking to make up for a lost season. (After two rounds: Larry Fitzgerald, Tom Brady)

2.03 DeAngelo Williams, RB, Panthers: DeWill is the Rodney Dangerfield of fantasy football.  No respect!  DeWill was the best running back in the league last year.  Period.  There is no disputing his league leading 20 touchdowns.  With the combination of Jonathan Stewart in the backfield, Williams did not wear down throughout the season like most players.  In fact, his best weeks were during the fantasy playoffs.  Clutch, thy name is DeAngelo. (After two rounds: Clinton Portis, DeAngelo Williams)

2.04 Marion Barber, RB, Cowboys: My how the mighty have fallen. Barber, a fringe top-six pick last year, can be had at value in 2009 due to injuries and falling short of expectations in 2008. While he does have some competition in the backfield with Felix Jones and Tashard Choice, Barber should be able to feed off those guys by staying fresh longer and delivering in the fourth quarter as he did so well in past years. (After two rounds: Maurice Jones-Drew, Marion Barber)

2.05 Steve Slaton, RB, Texans: Slaton was a surprise steal in the draft for the Texans — and fantasy owners — last season.  He earned the starting running back position and has no real competition on the team at the moment.  He would be a steal at this spot in the draft as well. (After two rounds: LaDainian Tomlinson, Steve Slaton)

2.06 Andre Johnson, WR, Texans: Back-to-back Texans players?!  In round two?!  I thought I would never see that day, but you cannot deny the talent of both Slaton and Johnson.  Johnson is definitely poised for an explosive year in 2009.  As long as he can stay off the injury report, I think that he will have the best year of any wide receiver in the league.  Just like this draft, he probably will not be the first receiver taken due to Larry Fitzgerald’s phenomenal playoff run, but I definitely would not pass on him in the second round. (After two rounds: Drew Brees, Andre Johnson)

2.07 Joseph Addai, RB, Colts: Another back flying slightly under the radar because of an injury-plagued, lackluster 2008 season. Addai, a former fantasy first round pick, still faces a little competition from Dominic Rhodes, but remains the go-to running back in a prolific offense. (After two rounds: Frank Gore, Joseph Addai)

2.08 Reggie Wayne, WR, Colts: Wayne is now the man with Marvin Harrision being cut this offseason.  Peyton Manning will lean heavily on Wayne to make up for Harrison’s ddeparture.  Wayne’s fantasy production should increase as the undisputed No. 1 wide receiver in Indy’s high-powered offense. (After two rounds: Brian Westbrook, Reggie Wayne)

2.09 Calvin Johnson, WR, Lions: This pick was a toss-up between two wideouts.  It was either the Randy Ratio or Megatron.  Both guys are going to have question marks at quarterback this year, but I think that CJ2 is primed for a big year.  If anything, Detroit will have to play from behind in most games which means alot of garbage TDs for CJ2. (After two rounds: Matt Forte, Calvin Johnson)

2.10 Peyton Manning, QB, Colts: Three Colts off the board now in the last four picks. Manning should have a better start to the 2009 season after missing all of training camp and the preseason following knee surgery last year. That fast start could help him regain his previous fantasy form, which would put him back at the top of the quarterback rankings by the end of 2009. (After two rounds: Steven Jackson, Peyton Manning)

2.11 Randy Moss, WR, Patriots: Moss is Tom Brady’s go-to receicer in an offense that loves to throw the ball.  His sidekick Brady will return healthy this year which should lead to another huge season from Moss. (After two rounds: Adrian Peterson, Randy Moss)

2.12 Marshawn Lynch, RB, Bills: Lynch’s stock is sure to plumment now that he was dealt a three-game suspension by the NFL.  However, I believe that the suspension will get reduced to possibly one game.  If so, Lynch can be had for cheap, possibly even in the third round.  The addition of T.O. to the Bills will open up the offense, giving more running lanes for Lynch. (After two rounds: Michael Turner, Marshawn Lynch)
