This weekend’s slate of playoff games feels a little more like the true playoff football than last weekend’s games. Anybody else have that feeling?
So many great games on tap with a bunch of great defenses on display. Seriously, the winner of Tennessee-Baltimore may only need 13 points. In fact, I think that game has 13-9 or 13-12 written all over it.
But that kind of game is bad news for fantasy owners in playoff fantasy leagues, including The Hazean’s Playoff Challenge. For a recap of the standings after one week, make sure to hit the jump below.
Start ‘em: Kurt Warner? He is the best fantasy quarterback still playing not playing against a top-tier defense this weekend, but I still am wary of the matchup in Charlotte. Ben Roethlisberger draws a soft-ish secondary, but the Chargers have been playing better defense lately. Is their a better pair of no-brainers than DeAngelo Williams and Brian Westbrook? Maybe Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Smith are a better pair. Duh, Antonio Gates, but I also like Kevin Boss to get the Giants’ passing game going.
Sit ‘em: Philip Rivers is going to have to keep the Chargers in the game at Pittsburgh, and that means managing the game. I am not using him this weekend, but I can understand those who do. Umm, Kerry Collins for sure. Tim Hightower again. If the Titans are going to score, it will have to be from further out than one yard. And that means Chris Johnson, so be sure to sit LenDale White. Vincent Jackson after his run-in with the law this week and last weekend’s goose egg. Also Anquan Boldin because of his game-time decision status. Three tight ends: L.J. Smith, Heath Miller and Todd Heap.
