Daily Haze

Am I just a bitter Saints’ fan, or should Drew Brees be starting for the NFC in the Pro Bowl over Kurt Warner?

Look, I know Warner has had a great season. He did things in the desert almost no one expected, including helping the Cards lock up a playoff spot several weeks ago. But was he named the starting quarterback because of the feel-good nature of his story, and that alone?

Probably not, because both quarterbacks have similar numbers. Brees has more interceptions (16) than Warner (13), but tops Warner in touchdowns (28 to 26) and passing yards (4,332 to 4,290). Maybe I am just bitter because the Saints are out of the playoff race, while the Cardinals can stumble down the stretch but still play in the postseason.
