Daily Haze

You would think that a runningback like LaDainian Tomlinson would make easy work of the NFL’s worst rushing defense. The numbers never lie, right?

Wrong. Tomlinson posted pretty pedestrian numbers by his standards yesterday against the Chiefs. The Chargers got the win thanks to Herm Edwards’ decision to go for two — which failed — instead of the tie at the end of the fourth quarter. Both of San Diego’s touchdowns came off the arm of Philip Rivers.

It just goes to show you that numbers are not everything.

Here are today’s great reads:

  • If Matt Ryan is still on your waiver wire, please invite me to your league next year. [Bruno Boys]
  • By the way, Tyler Thigpen registered another very good fantasy performance yesterday. [Fantasy Football Goat]
  • The world may never know if Adrian Peterson actually scored the game-winning touchdown yesterday. [Shutdown Corner]
  • Tennessee remained undefeated on the arm of Kerry Collins. Is he a legitimate fantasy quarterback now? [NFL GridIron Gab]
  • Waiver wire wonder BenJarvus Green-Ellis continues to produce at running back for New England. [FanHouse]
