The pain just never ends for fantasy owners.

Just this morning I listed a few players that need to be watched closely today and tomorrow for injury updates, and already a few players have be declared out for this weekend.

First, Brian Westbrook will not go, according to coach Andy Reid. Westy said he wanted to play earlier in the week, but the Eagles need him healthy down the stretch and should be able to compete and pick up the W in San Francisco without his services. Correll Buckhalter is a great start this weekend.

Surprise! Carson Palmer is out this weekend against the Jets. This comes as a slight shock after he returned to and stayed in the lineup last weekend against the Cowboys. Palmer had been saying the right things this week, that the elbow was feeling better and the ball was zinging across the practice field. But no dice for Palmer this weekend.

Also, there has been an update on Kellen Winslow’s status, and it sounds extremely painful. Good gracious man!

Hit the jump for this week’s mailbag, and remember to email your lineup questions to The Hazean next week using the email address found on the right sidebar.

Oj asks:

Hey Michael, can you help with week 6 lineup? However you set it, I’ll start it for this week, currently 2-3:
qb- Cutler vs Jac or Warner vs Dal
hb- Portis vs StL, Slaton vs. Mia, Sjackson vs WA
wr- Marshall vs Jac, R. Moss vs SD, Jennings vs Sea, A. Johnson vs Mia
Other Starts for this week are:
Witten vs Ari
Wa vs Stl
K- not sure yet since Lindell is on bye, possibly Carney, N. Rackers or Kasay.

Both quarterbacks are intriguing options. Cutler has been at or very near the top of QB rankings in just about every fantasy league. Warner plays in a pass-happy offense and finds himself in the top-10 in most leagues. I would give Cutler the slight edge here, but both could have very similar weeks.

Portis is a stud, so he is a lock to start. I like Steve Slaton again this weekend, even though Steven Jackson falls in that stud, must-start category. Washington’s D did a good job against Brian Westbrook last weekend so SJax could be bottled up.

You have incredible depth at WR, so it is hard to pick only two of these guys. If Matt Schaub is back, I would start Andre Johnson against Miami. I hate putting all my eggs in one basket, but I do not see how you can sit Brandon Marshall even if you start Cutler.

David asks:

Pick 2 of these WRs (already starting Reggie Wayne, so it’s 1 WR and 1 FLEX):
12 Team league, standard scoring + PPR…

Steve Breaston (DAL)
Brandon Stokley (JAX)
Patrick Crayton (@ARI)
Braylon Edwards (NYG)

I’m actually leaning toward Breaston and Stokley.
Edwards has the worst matchup, but might be in line for garbage points
toward the end of the game if it’s a blowout.

I like Breaston again this weekend in what should be a shoot-out against Dallas in the desert. I am starting him at WR in one league as well. I would go with Braylon Edwards as the other starter. Eventually, he is going to break out of this slump and start putting up some numbers. I think he still deserves a shot.
