Blaine gets it going with today’s Grab Bag. Yes, everyone’s favorite add — Correll Buckhalter — makes the cut. Go figure.

Word out of Philly is that Brian Westbrook is day-to-day with an ankle strain. He is on crutches and had an MRI today, but they are going to take it one day at a time for now. I would think he is highly questionable to play next weekend against Chicago.

If you happen to be a Brain Westbrook owner, or just need a little something extra to grab that elusive fantasy win, check out the guys listed below for this week’s Grab Bag.

If you want/need Buckhalter, I hope you have the top waiver priority in your league.

Correll Buckhalter [RB, Eagles] – With Brian Westbrook going down yesterday, Buckhalter could get the start if Westy can’t play next Sunday against the Bears.  Buckhalter finished last Sunday’s game with over 80 total yards of offense and a touchdown.

Rudi Johnson [RB, Lions] – More than likely Johnson was dropped from every roster in fantasy leagues across the nation when he was dropped by the Bengals a few weeks ago.  But that was a few weeks ago.  Now, Johnson looks poised to take over the running back duties in Detroit as he compiled over 110 yards of total offense and a score to boot against the 49ers.  Kevin Smith owners should start to worry.

Jeremy Stevens [TE, Buccaneers] – Stevens recorded 5 catches for 61 yards and a touchdown against Da Bears last Sunday.  He is worth a pick up if you are in need of a tight end as a bye week filler, but probably not reliable enough to be an every-week starter.

Derrick Ward [RB, Giants] - OK, now the picture is a little clearer. Ward is the guy behind starter Brandon Jacobs and had some success against the Bengals. Jacobs’ owners who need the insurance should add Ward ASAP.

Kevin Boss [TE, Giants] - Another tight end who would make a good bye-week filler. Boss was not a factor the first two weeks of the season, but had a few catches and a score in week 3 against the Bengals. It appears that the Giants are trying to work him more into the gameplan, which could make Boss a good play while your starting tight end is on bye.

Steve Slaton [RB, Texans] - If, for whatever reason, Slaton is on the wire, add him now. His results from yesterday’s game again a good Tennessee defense speak for themselves.

Robert Meachem [WR, Saints] - Two weeks, two games with 7+ fantasy points in standard leagues. It likely would not have won your week, but he is becoming more and more involved in the Saints’ offense and could be due for a huge week soon.
