Not too much of a gambling man. I play in one money league with a $50 buy-in, buy a lottery ticket every now and then when the jackpot is $200 million+ and hit up some $5 or $10 poker games with friends when available.
I take risks with my fantasy teams, but not so much with the money. Seriously, I have a $1 bet with a friend on the outcome of the LSU-Auburn game this weekend. What can I say, I just do not have the stones to risk losing heaps of money.
But I am all about the friendly wager, which is what I have gotten myself into for the Saints-Broncos game this Sunday. The Fantasy Football Librarian is known pretty well about the blogosphere for bringing all kinds of fantasy football knowledge and resources to her readers. But she also is known to be a HUGE Denver Broncos fan, and actually is attending this weekend’s game against the Saints.
So I thought I would send a little wager her way: The loser has to guest blog on the others site as to why the winner’s team is better on offense than the other.
I may have picked a bad time to bet on my Saints. In the span of a week, the Saints came off an exciting win, lost their best receiver — Marques Colston — for over a month and blew a fourth quarter lead on the road with several defensive starters sitting out.
Meanwhile, the Broncos wrestled victory from the jaws of defeat with a little help from the stripes in week two and boast the league’s hottest young quarterback in Jay Cutler.
I do not think this is a case of two teams going in opposite directions, but I think the Broncos have a ton of momentum right now and play well enough on offense to keep up with the Saints’ weapons. As impressive as both aerial assaults are, I think this game could come down to which team runs the ball best. Which means Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas v. Selvin Young, Michael Pittman and Andre Hall. Which also means The Hazean v. The Fantasy Football Librarian.
Which also means … C’mon Reggie!!!
